For each event, we allow up to ten pages in the catalog for you to use for ads. This can include a patron page, mission statement, committee acknowledgements and the sale of ads. Ads can also be used for trade of other goods and services donated to the organization. Sizes can range from business card to full page, you set the price for these and all the profits are yours.
Patron Programs can be organized by designating a certain dollar amount to be donated by individuals or corporations. There can be several levels of commitment, Platinum Patron, Gold Patron, Silver Patron, or Bronze Patron depending on the amount donated. You can recognize these people with a special preview prior to the regular preview, give them buttons or bows that show what level of patron they are and acknowledge them in the auction catalog.
We recommend that you develop a theme, name and possibly a logo for your event. We are looking to soften the words “art auction” so that people will come because of the theme. Some things might be “Wine Tasting, Live and Silent Auction”, “Visual Banquet Art Exhibition and Auction”, “An Art Affair” or one local group that works to preserve the natural, cultural, historic and environmental resources used “Toast to the Trees”. The possibilities are endless.
Another creative fund raising idea is ticket sales. Tickets can be purchased for admission to the event and separately for donations from patrons unable to attend the evening’s festivities, but who wish to contribute to the cause. One local church sold 400 tickets at $10 each and netted $4000 as a result.
Schedule an art auction and use these fun ways to raise money as a vehicle to raise additional funds. Many organizations have been able to double and triple their substantial art auction commission!
